Canal Walk opened on October 26, 2000 as the largest shopping centre in Africa with a 124 000 square meters of lettable retail space and 9,200 square meters of office space in two towers above the shopping centre.
At time of its development it had 408 stores, 17 Cinema’s and 8 000 parking bays.
